Spin-off was established to promote technological transfer and use the results of the researches developed by the University. The company’s personnel consists of university researchers, the University and one or more external cooperators, and it has its own external and legal subjectivity in comparison to the proposers themselves. Spin-off companies have received impetus after the approval of Legislative Decree no. 297/99 and Ministerial Decree 593/2000, which gives access to the interventions of financial support in favor of projects or programs of industrial research (Research Facilities Fund - FAR). The main fields of action of Ferotech: renewable energy, thermal power plants related to waste management, solar and concentrated solar systems, fluid dynamics.
